Flickr Mobile Site

http://m.flickr.com is quite nice, including structure, design and functionalities.I do not have many experiences on mobile site development, but to me, if all websites can be like flickr mobile, I don’t think the I need so many client applications. Honestly, I don’t like facebook mobile, twitter mobile, so Ihave to install client applications for them to get better user experience.

via looking into the html source of flickr, I just realized it’s true that people say iphone changed the world. And flickr mobile is optimized for iphone, completely, although I can get almost same user experience by Opera on windows mobile phone. And unfortunately, flickr mobile doesn’t response same to IE on mobile…

So as resource for myself, there are two sites look nice, http://www.iphonemicrosites.com and http://www.iphonecompatible.net.

Mobile Operating Systems

It was reported that ChinaMobile and ChinaUnicom are developing their own operating system based on Android which actually is Linux. (actually China Mobile already released/will release their OS called OMS, open mobile system) I have no idea why it’s not Windows Mobile but Android. Looks google will be successful in China mobile market. IPhone is based on Darwin, actually is Unix. Symbian, which is just a toy. I don’t know Palm and Blackberry. So no comments. Mezu M8 has developed a great system based on WinCE 6.0. I think they should sell the system to Microsoft. Windows Mobile, which is official ver6.5 but actually is WinCE 5.2, sigh.

So looks the war comes back, windows vs linux vs unix. Does Windows mobile possibly win?

I’m expecting new and fast kernel, simple and powerful UI, easy to dev app…  Seems Android is what I expect?

No Search Engine

Although the search engine is pretty or even critical important to websites, I personally don’t want any search engine to index my blog. Simply adding a robots.txt to the root path, then you can avoid the annoying search crawlers. Hope it’s true!

Grey’s Anatomy Season 5

“When something begins, you generally have no idea how it’s going to end.”  – Grey’s Anatomy Episode 23.

I completely had no idea about the finale of this season. Really a crazy ending. I have to say we see the most handsome George of the last scene . Looks we will not see this brave and honest guy in the next season, maybe. Hate this, but let’s check it out in the next season.

Back

2 months, after I closed binzywu.com in March. I’m still feeling a little scared to write something on the web. I’m trying to back, I’m using Flickr and Twitter back, since I love my friends and I don’t want they lose me. And I should be strong, even if I come across certain crazy dog.

On the new blog, I will only write something about what I’m interested in and what will not expose any of my privacy. So what I can think now is only about the software development , like programming languages, new technologies, project management, outsourcing, web, internet etc.

Anyway, I’m back, kind of.

I bought a hosting from ????.com. Thanks to them both. Next step would be transfering the domain to godaddy.com or name.com? Since I do not want to beian…
